Our Story
In January 2016 a small volunteer non-profit organization was founded to help facilitate growth and promotion of Logger Sports and athletes. Since our inception, we have hosted 8 competitions; Nova Scotia Lumberjack Championships 5x, the Canadian (double-bit) Axe Throwing Championships 2x and the 2022 World Double-bit Axe Throwing Championships. These events have drawn competitors to Nova Scotia to compete for over $100,000 in prize money in front of over 10,000 spectators.
We believe our events have helped raise the profile of the sport and the athletes through exciting live events and the 12 television episodes produced from our competitions that have aired nationally across Canada.
We are proud to help carry on the legacy of logger/lumberjack/timber sports through our initiatives and are fortunate to have dedicated and generous volunteers that help make our initiatives a reality.
