Canadian Axe Throwing Championships return in 2025!
Save the date - August 16-17, 2025
Wild Axe Park, Barrington, Nova Scotia
The Canadian Axe Throwing Championships are a tournament style axe throwing competition using double-bitted axes. It is an Open Tournament format, meaning all nations are welcome to compete.
Nova Lumberjacks Society has hosted this event twice, in 2018 and 2019 awarding over $25,000 in prize money!
Competitors throw an axe from 20ft away at a competition target which has five 2'' diameter scoring rings. Each time their axe secures into the target they earn points for that throw which accumulate and rank them in the tournament. Scoring is as follows; 5points for hitting the center of the target (a bullseye!), then 4 pts, 3, 2 and 1 as you move out towards the edge of the target. No points are awarded if the axe does not stick into the target.
This tournament take place over several days with competitors battling through qualification and championship rounds.
The Canadian Championships bring together the best double-bitted axe throwers in the world to compete for prize money and the chance to be a champion!
